Bids & pricing
Do you offer free bids?
Yes. Every bid is free and there's no obligation. Send us the plans or a scope summary and you'll have a written, itemized bid within one business day.
How much does metal stud framing cost per square foot in Austin?
It depends on the wall. The biggest drivers are wall height, stud gauge and spacing, how much blocking and bracing the design calls for, and the layout, whether it's long straight runs or a lot of corners, soffits, and openings. Taller walls and heavier-gauge steel cost more per foot than a standard office-height partition. Rather than quote a number that won't match your job, we price your actual plans and hand you an itemized bid, by the square foot of wall and by the linear foot, so you can see exactly what drives the cost.
How much does commercial drywall or an acoustical ceiling cost?
Drywall hanging is priced by the square foot of board, adjusted for ceiling height, board type (standard, fire-rated, or moisture-resistant), and access. Suspended acoustical ceilings are priced by the square foot of grid and tile plus the grid type. Both go on the same itemized bid, so you see the quantities and unit pricing instead of a lump sum.
How do you price a job?
We price by scope and square footage, factoring in board type, ceiling height, and access. You get an itemized bid up front with quantities you can check, so there are no vague ranges and no line items that appear later.
Do you require a deposit?
On larger jobs we usually take a deposit to reserve the schedule and cover materials, with the balance billed against progress as the work is completed. Whatever the terms, we put them in writing before any work starts.
Timeline & process
How soon can you start?
It depends on our current schedule and the size of the scope. We reply to every request within one business day and can often mobilize quickly. You'll get a firm timeline along with your bid.
How does the process work?
It's three steps. First you send us the plans or scope by phone or email. Then we send a written, itemized bid within one business day. Once it's approved, our crew shows up on the scheduled day and works in sequence with your other trades.
Will the building stay usable during the work?
Yes, wherever the schedule allows. We seal off the work area with dust barriers, protect the floors and the HVAC returns, and clean up at the end of each day, so the rest of the building can keep operating.
Credentials & guarantees
Are you insured?
Yes. Martinez Professional Construction carries full liability insurance, and we're glad to provide a certificate of insurance on request. Texas does not require a state license for this trade, so we carry insurance rather than a license.
Do you guarantee your work?
We do. We aren't finished until our scope meets both our standard and yours, which means the punch list is cleared and the details are right before we hand off to the next trade.
Do you pull permits or do inspections?
No. We don't pull permits or perform inspections ourselves, so the general contractor or owner keeps those. We build our scope to code so it's ready for the inspection they schedule.
Services & service area
What areas do you serve?
Austin and the surrounding Central Texas communities, including Round Rock, Pflugerville, Cedar Park, Leander, Georgetown, Buda, Kyle, San Marcos, Lakeway, Bastrop, Del Valle, Manor, and Elgin. See our Service Areas page for the full list.
Do you take residential jobs?
Our focus is commercial, but we do take on crew-scale residential work for builders, remodelers, and custom-home GCs: metal and wood framing, wall removal, ADU and garage framing, and drywall hanging. What we don't do is small drywall patch or repair calls. If you're a homeowner with a larger remodel, have your builder reach out.
What if we only have a small scope?
No job is too small. A single demising wall, a ceiling grid for one suite, or blocking for a build-out, we bid it with the same free bid and the same standard of work as a large package.
